A veneer is a thin shell like covering placed over the outside of the tooth for cosmetic purposes. The process involves preparing the tooth, taking impressions and cementing a temporary. The laboratory then makes the veneers out of a porcelain or pressed ceramic material. They are then permanently cemented to the teeth in the office. Veneers are a great alternative to orthodontic treatment to help fix subtle problems like spaces between the teeth, chipped teeth, stained or discolored teeth, and crooked teeth. In most cases veneers can be completed in 2 office visits.
